In a society that encourages people to be "cash-rich," what wages as the motivation to work? Many people who are highly paid in the workplace simply take comfort in knowing that their salary increases each year. Unfortunately, very few people understand how money affects people's lives. The effects of our society's values on our income are overwhelmingly negative. In fact, most people have forgotten what it feels like to receive wages as motivation to work.

These circumstances create a sense of urgency and excitement about working hard in this day and age.

Wages as motivation to work are certainly not limited to the working class. Anyone with a net worth and skills can earn large sums of money. Unfortunately, wagers are attached to the wages you receive. If you happen to miss a bet, you suffer the consequences. Missing more bets costs less than paying a higher wage to someone who misses just one bet.

People who participate in betting like to think of themselves as winners. They have a sense of achievement when their wagers win. Those who do not participate in betting see wagers as nothing more than a waste of time. Without the thrill of competition, without the sting of defeat, how could someone develop this sense of achievement?

The more you work, and the better your performance, the better your pay and benefits will be. Use wagers as motivation to do even more! Who knows, you may even hit the jackpot and become a millionaire!

To help you get to the level of motivation you need, plan short-term goals that need to be set each day. For example, set aside one hour of work to do each day for five days. Set the short-term goals so that you are sure you are working on something worthwhile. It is easier to stay focused when working toward a common goal. Also, it makes it easier to stay motivated because the work will be focused on a specific task.

When you work towards a common goal, you will notice your motivation drive increase. You will be inspired to do even more, which will drive you to hit more goals. Your short-term goals should not be too difficult or intimidating, just simple tasks you can do on a regular basis. If you do not complete your five-day assignment, move on to your next goal.
