Motivation Story : secret of being happy

In a village there was a very wise man (sage). People brought their problems to him and used to seek his guidence. One day a person came to the sage and asked. "Sir, I want to know what is the secret to remain happy always? The wise man told him that you should come with me in the jungle, then I will be able to explain you about this secret.

Both started walking towards the forest. On the way, the sage picked up a big stone and told the person to grab it and walk. The person picked up the stone and along with the sage started walking towards the forest.

After some time the pain started in the hands of that person, but he kept quiet and continued. But when a lot of time passed and he was not able to control his pain, he told the sage that he is suffering. So the sage said that put this stone down. The person felt great relief when he kept the stone down.

Only then the sage said - "This is the secret of Happiness". The person said - Sir I did not understand.

So the sage said- If you keep the stone in your hand for a minute it gives pain which is tolerable but and if you put it in for longer duration you hurt more and the pain will increase further.The same way is the burden of suffering ,the longer we hold , we will be more sad and frustrated. It depends on us whether we keep the burden of suffering for one minute or you can have it for full life. If you want to be happy, then learn to put the painful stone down quickly and do not pick it if possible.
