Any kindness you do to someone lasts forever

A primary school teacher named Jane was transferred to another school in her state and was immediately appointed as a teacher for the primary five pupils.

In her class was a pupil whose name was John. She noticed that he was always alone, dirty, out of place, lonely and will never do any of the assignment given out in class as take home. She also noticed that most of his classmate does not play with him and also have a negative attitude towards him.

Therefore, has her class teacher, Jane decided to look into this and find out the cause of this attitude towards him from his mate and she saw very surprised by the outcome of her investigate.

Her finding was by her looking through the school records on John from primary one to four and she finds out what him class teachers had written about him.

• Class one said, "John is a good pupil, does his assignment neatly and has many friends".
• Class two said, "John is a good pupil, does his assignment neatly but he is unhappy because his mother has a terminal disease which makes life at home is a struggle"
• Class three said, "his mother's death has been very hard on him and his father doesn't show much interest in him".
• Class four teacher said, "John is withdrawn. He doesn't do his assignment and has very few friends because he keeps to himself".

Going through all these records on comments from his past class teachers, Jane was able to know what and where the problem was and she also made a decision that she will do everything in her power to see that John gets the attention he needs and also to assist him as much as she can.

As custom at the end of the year the pupils bring present for their class teacher, everyone brought expensive presents wrapped in the beautiful colored paper except John whose own was wrapped in an old pieced of a newspaper. With this, other pupils in his class laughed at him.

His class teacher Jane felt the pain caused by this act from his mates so she opened the present brought out the content which was a quarter full old bottle of a perfume and an old bracelet with missing beads. She wore it, tapped a little of the perfume on and wrist which made the whole class to be silent seeing this.

When the rest of his classmates had gone home, John deliberately wait behind went to see his class teacher in her office, summoning enough courage he said, “Ma, you smelled like my mum today”, and he left.

A year had passed since they finished primary school and John remembered his teacher Jane, he wrote her a letter in which he acknowledges that she was the best teacher he ever had. When he finished secondary school, he wrote another letter informing her of his performance as the best student in his class also not forgetting to say that she was the best teacher he ever had. Even after he completed his University degree and finishing medical school as he studied medicine and he is now a doctor, he wrote and said, Jane again was the best teacher he ever had.

Several years after John wrote another letter informing his primary school teacher Jane that he is planning to get married and would like her to attend the wedding and sit as the groom mother. Of course, she accepted as it’s an honor and during the wedding, she put on the same bracelet he gave him years ago.
