Capoeira: Only the Strong.

The following publication is dedicated to one of my passions: La Capoeira.

Let's talk a little about this art.

Capoeira is a fight, which combines elements of dance, self-defense and acrobatics, its main advantage is attacking the opponent so that they can not be easily deciphered.

The practical scenario where the capoeira ritual unfolds is a roda (wheel) and it is made up of a group of practitioners, two fighting and the rest singing and applauding, and the music that directs the encounter goes hand in hand with the following instruments: Berimbau, atabaque and pandeiro.

Only The Strong

I met this art in a film called: Only The Strong, filmed in the USA and whose purpose was to show the effectiveness of this style of fight and use it to fight evil in schools in that country. Also as a videogame enthusiast, I discovered one called Tekken where one of the characters was a capoerista and always caught my attention. This is how, together with a great friend, I started my capoeira practices in the city.

Some time later I left for several reasons: as university studies and jobs, but over the years I noticed that something was missing in my life and I discovered that it was to resume my training.
More than 3 years ago I returned and managed to find myself again with my love for art until I managed to participate in events, exhibitions, special classes, trips and meetings.

In this photo I appear playing the Berimbau.

As I am a teacher in a school, the managers proposed that I open a group so that the students can integrate and acquire new skills as a way to combat drugs, leisure and bad habits. And so I accepted the proposal humbly teaching what I had learned and practiced, living what impacted me in the movie I had seen years ago, but now I was the protagonist.

Here you can see me playing the Atabaque. This is my team imparting notions of capoeira.

Nothing like fulfilling a dream and that through getting the same you can help other people, it is priceless the satisfaction you can feel when you see a child smile. In this way, my greatest desire is to spread this art, generate sufficient resources so that new lives are impacted and more in my country that art has been abandoned almost entirely by the economic situation.
