Know your weapon

You cannot fight a socio-cultural battle using spiritual means. For example, you cannot pray yourself off unemployment when you are lazy and nonchalant to work. 

If you employ the right tool for the wrong battle, you have only succeeded in creating more problems for yourself. 

Ephesians 6:12 states ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.’ For the Bible to tell us that we wrestle, it shows that there is a struggle, a “battle of life,” and we are in a battlefield. According to this verse, let us understand what we are to wrestle against. The struggle starts is from flesh and blood to against a more unearthly power of evil. “Principalities” and “powers” describe simply angelic powers, whether of good or evil. In this passage, these are powers of evil. 

The phrase is striking and powerful, “against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual powers of wickedness in the heavenly places” indicating that the forces work in agreement to execute their plans. The “spiritual wickedness” is “spiritual hosts” of wickedness; and the phrase “in the heavenly places,” corresponding to “the power of the air” which can be what is explained in Ephesians 2:2. The spiritual hosts of evil are fighting in the region above this physical realm. This shows that the power of evil as directly spiritual. They could be acted through physical and human agency, but their main aim is attacking the spirit to frustrate man’s communion with God. The struggle of the world is aiming at our faith. We must know what the enemy is aiming at and be on the guard. 

The knowledge of your weapon help greatly in the extent of victory you gain. If you don't know your weapon, you won't be able to use it approximately.
