Why fear is necessary but discernment is essentialsteemCreated with Sketch.

People and animals have needed fear to stay alive since the beginning of time. Fear makes you aware of danger around you and controls how you act.

When fear is shaped by schooling, environment, or media, it can cause anxiety.

A excessive fear can be brought back by a fear from childhood or added on top of other fears. This can make a person vulnerable as an adult when they feel like they don't have the tools to handle a crisis.

As I said in my last piece, this health crisis makes most people worry about getting sick, dying, and losing loved ones.

Don't let fear run your life if you're responsible for what you do. Follow the rules and use common sense.

A whole group of people are paralysed by this mindset of terror.

In some dictatorships or types of leadership, you need to make people afraid to get respect.

The same rule applies to cities.
The media does report important information, but spreading fear weakens most people's mental defences, which can hurt their immune systems, especially those who are already sick or weak.

It's normal to remind people to change how they act when they're in a dangerous situation. It takes repetition to make a lesson stick.

As a therapist, I tell my clients to work on skills like self-hypnosis and controlling their emotions. So, these actions become natural, and they have the right attitude. to accept and help them build up their immune systems and trust in their own ability to handle things.

But when the orders are shown all the time on TV and social media, they make the most vulnerable people even more scared and drive everyone crazy.

Unfortunately, a lot of the media I see makes me feel like a child or isn't constant. In the same way that fake news spreads on social media.

That means that duty and common sense are your best friends!

Not just during this outbreak, but all the time, everyone needs to be smart.

What does judgement mean?

The skill of evaluating a situation clearly and briefly and sending a message that makes people think.

Do not:

Do not let your worries take over your emotions.
Think about what's wrong and dwell on it.
Learn how to:

Back up
Believe in each other.
Use your common sense.
We can either become more aware or get help from a therapist to control our emotions. Anxiety comes back because of things that happened in the past.

Tell the difference between "normal" fear that helps you make good choices and blocking fear that makes you anxious or panicked.

In conclusion
Being patient, using common sense, and being smart all help us live safely and wisely in society.

Don't watch the news as much. Learn new things or be creative to stay busy.

Some people don't like it when you play loud music with the window open. So learn how to deal with stress and anger while still showing respect for others.

Sort:

When a defining moment comes, define the moment or the moment defines you. We all need a bit of fear to keep us alive and give caution and as you have rightly said, we need common sense and not allow fear to dominate or rule our life.

This is in-depth and encouraging. Thank you for this.
