THERE’S MORE TO TALENT.

   Kallm Anji Reddy said and I quote, “Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.”

   Good day friends, hope your day is a splendid one? Today, my write up is centered on talent and our approach towards it. But before I continue, I will like to define what talent is. However, talent as been defined by lot of dictionary and reputable writer, nevertheless, here is my view about talent:
“Talent is a discovered inbuilt ability to skillfully perform a specific task without undergoing any training.”
Though we refer to few people as talented being, but the truth of the matter is, no one is talentless. In every living being, there must be at least a talent embedded in it, but if this talent is not discovered, such person is regarded as a talent free being.

HOW CAN YOU DISCOVER YOUR TALENT?

• First of all, believe that you are talented: Dean Cain said and I quote, “always believe in yourself and keep going. You don’t have to have the most talent in the world. You don’t have to be the smartest person in the world. If you persist and you persist, you will be successful.” Therefore, you need to be convinced that you truly possess the talent capable of making you the cream of the society.
• Be observant: after you have a rigid belief that you are a talented being, carefully observe what you are made of through your answers to the following questions:
  what did you derive pleasure in whenever you do it?
  what did you find easy when others are complaining it’s hard?
  what have you been doing without receiving any training from anybody?
  what can you do, irrespective of the time and your mode?
  what did people around you often call you to help them with?
  if you find out that you own an answer that provides correct answer for more than two of these questions, then the answer is indeed an inbuilt capability (talent) in you.
• Never say you can’t: the fact that you have never performed a task before is not enough to stop you from giving it an attempt. If you find out that you perfectly complete the task without acquiring help from anyone, what you have done is inspired by your talent.
• Ultimately, don’t be scared of any problem you come across: a very active way to discover one’s talent is the eager to create solution to a problem. You don’t have to jettison a problem because it cannot be solved by people from your field. Observe the problem and approach it for a long-lasting solution. From there, your inbuilt ability will pave way for you irrespective of the fact that you did not learn about how to fix such problem before. Which will review the dying talent in you.

WHAT CAN YOUR TALENT BE?

   Though we mostly select talented people from either music, football or organizations with high reputation, hence, a lot of people think talent is inclusively the ability to sing, play, dance or handle a specific task better than others. Although, talent speaks well in these aspects, nonetheless, there is more to talent than that.
Your talent may not be the ability to sing, play or dance better than your colleague, but it may be:

• the ability to understand things faster than your colleague,
• the ability to think faster than your college
• Or the ability to sense better than your colleagues.
  Though these talents are mostly regarded as nothing in our generation, but come to think of it, if these talents are well-used, their owner will be compare with nothing but the sun at the center of every constellation. Hence, you don’t have to possess the most rated talent, all you have to do is to discover whichever talent you possess and put them to effective use.

HOW CAN YOUR TALENT MAKE YOU A GENIUS?
   It is true that talent is what we can’t let go of in the journey to success. However, without the adequate use of talent, being a genius is nothing but a mere dream. That is why this write up will not be a complete one without showcasing what it takes before your talent can make you a genius. Although talent is always a part and parcel of a genius, but a talent without the following attributes is nothing but an enclosed capability in the chamber of disabilities:

• POSITIVITY: a very important attribute that can make a talented being a genius is the ability to forsake negative options for positive ones. No matter what a talent may be, if it's carrier refuses to turn a deaf ear towards unfavourable conditions, such carrier will never make optimum use of his or her talent. Therefore, remember to always stay positive.

• HARD WORK: Stephen king said and I quote, “talent is cheaper than table salt. what separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.” Hence, there are lot of talented being out there. You are talented, I am talented, everyone is talented. What brings the difference between everybody is our hard working rate. Robert Half said and I quote, “ hard work without talent is shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy.” Thus, you need to be hard working to avoid a tragic end.
• BE DISCIPLINED: There is nothing achievable without discipline, you have to let go of sleep, pleasurable moments and friends with different goal in order to turn your talent into ability. Roy L. Smith said and I quote, “ discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability.” Therefore, you need to be disciplined in order to become a genius.

   Conclusively, a life without an identified talent is yet to be a complete one, a talent without optimum use is nothing but an unfulfilled talent. The ball is always in your court, once there is life, it is not too late to put your talent to optimum use.
