Your first statement really got me thinking.

One thing that has the power to kill your dreams very fast is when you begin to think that you have gotten to the peak of growth.

That was my hit !!!
It reminds me of what my mentor usually say;

The point where learning stops, growth peaks and death starts.

Keep working, never relent.
