When there is a will, there is a way is an old English proverb that has proved its meaning numerous times. It simply means if we are determined to do something, we will always get it done regardless of possible challenges and difficulties that will come our way. As we all know that nothing is impossible in this world however, success is not cheap. Determination and will power are the keys that unlock the doors to success. 

 

If we have a desire to do something, challenges and strong oppositions will come our way. We will even fail countless times, but we should take failures positively as it makes us strong and teaches us a lot of things. We should also see failures as stepping stones to success.  

Almost everybody has a dream, but not everyone is working hard enough to make his/her dream a reality. So many people give up after encountering resistance or failures. The road to success has a lot of thorns on it. Only a strong will-power, persistence and determination can make you reach your destination. Have you failed over and over again in something your really have passion for? It is not time to retreat or give up. It is only time to try harder or perhaps find a better way of doing it.

There is a popular saying that; 

“winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win”. 

Personally, I’m a strong willed person. I usually don’t quit in what I believe in. I have had a lot of issues with my family members who think I don’t think properly, because I did not choose or follow their line of thought. Whatever I believe in, I follow it with determination and persistence regardless of how many times I fail on it. So many times, they advise me to give up on what I believe in because it isn’t working, but I don’t ever give up until I achieve desired result. When I started singing as a child, they tried shutting me up, by telling how awful my voice sounded, I never gave up. I joined the choir in my local church and went for a few voice training. Today wherever I sing, I’m forever remembered in the heart of those who listened to me. I have not been the popular singer, but I have improved a lot and will reach my desired goal soon. 

I know so many people have given up on their dreams just because a family member or a friend told them they are not good at it, or it is impossible to achieve. On the road to desired success and dreams realization, we must be determined and strong willed. We should never allow outside pressure to discourage us. Now if for any of those reasons or similar ones you stopped working on your dream actualization, I advise you to have a rethink. 

We have heard a lot of stories about great and successful people; little did we know that most of them had to face a lot resistance and failures. Here are some that deferred all odds to get where they are. 

Bill Gates 

The 59- year old business magnate is the world’s richest man today but he couldn’t make any money at first. His first company, Traf-O-Data ( a device which could read traffic tapes and process the data) failed miserably. When Gates and his partner, Paul Allen tried to sell it, the product didn’t work. But that didn’t stop them from trying again. Gates went on to create the global empire, Microsoft.   

Oprah Winfrey 

She is one of the most successful and richest person in the world today and is a well-known public figure. But she had to go through a tragic past to reach where she stands today. She grew up in Milwaukee and was repeatedly molested by her cousin, uncle and a family friend. Eventually she ran away from home and gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, at the age of 14 who died shortly after. But that didn’t stop her. She excelled as an honors student. She won an oratory contest while she was in high school and gained a full scholarship to college. Today, she has a net worth of over a billion dollars and a million fans worldwide. 

Henry Ford 

The man behind the Ford companies wasn’t an instant success. His early businesses failed and he was broke five times. But that didn’t break his spirit and he went on to form the famous Ford Motor Company in 1903, which is known for innovative line of cars. 

Face your challenges, overcome them and get counted among the Successful in life
