Why You Can't Change Other People - Some Common Mistakes People Make When Trying to Change Others

The quote; "You can't change other people" sounds like a cliche. You can't change other people, can you? Well, I beg to differ and I must tell you, that it is not true. We are all born with free will to choose our own path in life. Other people have the power to choose NOT to choose their own path and I believe, the choice is ours to make.


There are those who believe, that they cannot change anything about themselves. I do not believe this to be true. You see, we can modify ourselves and the way we think. That is all part of self-improvement.

If someone was told, that they could not change anything about themselves, I would bet money, that they would try. If they were told, that they could change anything about anyone, I would bet that, they most certainly, would. Why? Because they want to change themselves. They want to be different from everyone else.

You see, humans always want something more, or someone else wants something different, then we adapt. You can't change other people. You can't change yourself. You have to be happy with who you are, what you have, and what you want. If you are wanting to change something about yourself, then you must be willing to change that which is holding you back.

I know many people believe, that they have to change something in order for change to occur. Well, if this is the case, then I wish to ask you, what exactly is changing? Are you trying to change something in your life for the better, and are you willing to take action? What I mean by this, is that if you are not willing to take action, then change will never occur. I truly believe that action is the number one key to success. You must put forth the effort, if you want anything in your life.

When it comes to change, many people think that they have to change their behavior. Well, this is a big part of that, but, what I also believe, is that, they must change something in their lives. You can't change something in your life, if you don't want it to change. If you simply are not willing to change yourself, then nothing will change.

One of my favorite sayings "You cannot change something, until you want it to change." This is very true. You must want something in order to change it. You cannot be forcing something into existence, unless you can place your hands on it. The saying goes something like this, "If you want something in life, then you must work for it, and work hard to get it."

So, if you truly want change, you must want to change yourself first. Then change something in your life. If you force change on someone else, or on life in general, the change will only be temporary. It's very important to understand this concept. In conclusion, if you want something better in your life, work towards it, and the results will amaze you.

If you have been carrying around some negative energy for a while, it is time to let go of that energy. You might even need to release it from your body. Releasing any and all energies from your body is important for overall health. It frees up vital energy for living. A lot of people have too much energy put into holding onto the past, which they think may be causing their current problems.

If you have been around people who seem to have it all and are unhappy with how they look, it is time to work on yourself. Improve yourself so you look attractive. Learn how to take care of yourself, so you attract more people to you. This is all related to changing something in your life.

Most importantly, if you want to change something about yourself, work towards it. Don't try to make another person change for you. If they are not willing to change for themselves, you have nothing to lose. Work towards improving yourself, and soon others will follow your lead.


Just as with anything else, there is no single solution that will work for everyone. You need to use what works for you best, and then modify it to be more appealing to others. For instance, you might find that reading books with relaxing, positive affirmations in them really help you. You might read for a half an hour each day and find that you feel more relaxed. You can then modify that to say something like, whenever you are feeling stressed or angry, you can turn to my favorite book for calming and relaxation techniques.
