A key life-lesson that so many of us have never been taught is what your Why is and how to find it. Yes, Nietzsche applies it specifically to life as a whole, but anything that you're trying to do day-to-day needs to have a Why behind it as well.
Your Why is your source of intrinsic motivation. Rather than being externally motivated by rewards or posts on reddit, when you have intrinsic motivation, you want to go after your goals because you find the pursuit inherently valuable. It's the most reliable and long-term source of motivation that there is.
Whatever it is that you want to go after, take some time right now to find your Why and write it down. Do you want that degree? Why? How will your life change when you have that degree? Want to lose weight? Why? What benefits will you see as a result of losing weight?
Get specific. You want to be able to play with your children without ending up out of breath. You want that CS degree because it will help you get your dream job. The more concrete your reasons—and the more that they resonate with you—the better.
Revisit your Why often. Whenever you're feeling unmotivated, look at your list. Imagine yourself enjoying those results. Remind yourself that those things will happen as a direct result of your actions now.
So often, our day-to-day actions become disconnected from the things that they will eventually bring us—or they don't even bring us closer to the things that we want—because we haven't taken the time to figure out why we're taking those actions. Being conscious of how our actions today bring us the results that we want tomorrow makes it much easier to stay motivated and keep moving forward.

In less than 24 hours one more object of dysphoria will be removed. This time it's my Treachea (Adams apple), the first surgery in a long line of procedures that will help to realign the incongruence between my body and mind. As I sit in my bedroom's bay window, my mind wonders, thoughts of my hopelessly lost girlhood, of the confusion and pain of my teenage years, and finally the realization and painful death of the identity that was formerly known as CALEB. Caleb. I'm not afraid to say it. I am not that scared little girl anymore. I am strong, I am proud of who I am, and while I know that surgeries are not a magic bullet that magically erase all of this pain, they are beacons of hope, lighthouses on this perilous journey. So this goes out to all of the little trans kids, confused, hopeless and scared, please, keep going, it does gets better.

Hi there, I’m new here. And I’m starting my weight lose journey once again after falling out of love with it for a little more that 1 year now. When I first started 2 years ago my mum had passed away and I wanted to make her proud by finally joining the raf. I seen progress, I went from 23 stone to 19 stone in just 4 months, that was before summer. During the summer I went on holiday, and when I came back I couldn’t get back into the gym or anything. Lost motivation, lost my gym progress (a little sitting at 20 stone now) (i didn’t fully stop I went weeks without doing any work outs and eating like shit, and weeks where I would work out, so it kinda balanced itself)
Yesterday and today were the first time in a long time that I’ve actually managed to work out from home (have a small weights bench and boxing bag at home) so I started this again.
My question is how do I keep it this time, how do I manage my time effectively and how do I start a diet plan when all I want to seem to eat is junk food
Thanks for your time in reading this post. Sorry if format is weird on mobile

I just see so many lost souls out there right now who are frustrated with the world and direction it's headed in. But it's never to late to start having the correct opinions. Too many young man are thinking for themselves and that's dangerous.
But it's never to late to allow reddit to think for you, and for you to share in it's universal outlook.
I just wanted to share this with you. Good luck on your journey :)
