Quit creating your own excuses!

Friday last week was our amazing church on the streets, we took church to the streets instead of staying in the confines of our church auditorium so that we can reach out to a larger audience.

The programme was slated for 4pm,but as at 2pm, the street location we initially choose to use for the programme was not available,the church leadership had to start looking for another location,more so the materials we use to create and develop a stage,sound equipment were also not available. All efforts to put things in place seemed abortive. Some of our church leaders even suggested to our pastor that church on the street be shifted to later date that will be announced.

My pastor insisted that church on the street will hold considering the fact that lots of people have been invited for the programme,"they couldn't possibly take out time to come here and be asked to return that the programme has been shifted,that would not be fair"he said. He also emphasized that people will not ask you for excuses,they would ask you for results! He encouraged all the church workers to put in more effort to see that things were put in place soonest.

For a programme that was slated for 4pm,the location,stage and sound equipments were ready by 6pm but we still had technical issues,the sound refused to come up, people that came by 4pm must have waited for so long,but my pastor still dint still see that as an excuse,he rather apologized for the technical hitches. It took another hour for technical issues to be resolved. Church on the streets started by 7pm,even if we were 3 hours later than scheduled and there were lots of reason why this programme should be shifted to a later day,my pastor didn't accept those excuses rather he conquered them!

Excuses are the tools of the incompetent,monuments of nothingness and those that use them are not wise!

If we want to get any significant thing done in our lives then we need to learn to rise above excuses. Show me a successful person and I will show you a person that has learnt to rise above excuses. Excuse is any reason you have accepted as good enough to stop you. People will not ask you for your excuses,they will ask you for your results. The annoying part is that most times we are the ones that create our own excuses--I couldn't pass that course because the lecture notes were much!why not start on time to study the lecture notes? My business failed because customers were not coming! Why not look for the customers? I dint make it to college because there were no funds! Why not study hard and apply for a scholarship scheme!
Quit creating your own excuses,rather create a will because where there is a will,there is a way. Those who create excuses are not wise because for every excuse you create,you have spent half of the time you would have spent on being productive.
Quit Creating your own excuses! They are the tools of the incompetent!
