It's important to define your goals and have a an action plan. As you mentioned, it's about taking the first small step. And everyday, you focus on the one most important task that will help you get closer to your goal.

I highly recommend the book, The ONE Thing by Gary W. Keller and Jay Papasan. The book discusses the value of simplifying your workload using a simple yet effective strategy.
