Constructive habits and Destructive habits

People often think that there are two types of habits.

Good Habits and Bad Habits.

But what we miss is that there’s a huge problem with this type of binary thinking. There are no Good Habits and there are certainly no bad habits.

You might be confused with the things that I am saying here. But in fact, this is true. Our brain doesn’t know what is a good habit and what is not.

For our brain, there’s only one thing; Habits.

And that is why it is so tough to quit some very harmful habits.

“I’m not addicted to smoking; I can quit anytime”

Have you ever heard someone say this? Or did you ever say this to yourself?

We all feel that we are not addicted to anything, we feel that we are in control but are we really willing to make a tough choice and quit that one bad habit?

No, we will always procrastinate, and never ever feel like quitting because we feel we have the power, control, and self-confidence to quit when we feel like.

When we decide to quit a habit or form new good habits, we must change the way we think about it.
In my opinion, we must always use the words “Constructive habits and Destructive habits”.

You can’t quit smoking with an attitude that says “I quit smoking” because when you quit something there’s a huge probability that you will start it again.

Instead, you must say that “I don’t smoke”, this statement gives out vibes that say that you don’t smoke. You look firm in your decision and you act as if you have never had a habit of smoking.

Some people call it positive conditioning and I have seen its impact. And I always try to create habits that are good for me and never ever let my mind slip into another bad habit.
