THE HURT IN FLATTERY

There are many wrongs we look at in this present world like corruption, hatred, deceit, greed and many more but I have discovered we overlook the wrongs in flattery. Flattery is an act of sweet-talking another person or throwing compliments to someone with an ulterior move which is mostly evil.

Women have lost their sense and innocence to desperate men via flatteries. It comes so sweet to the ear that it switches off their mental state and eventually when their sense regulate, many things have been lost. Ladies most importantly should be careful with the words they process from men, think deeply and see beyond the words coated in flatteries, this will help you see things better.

Let me narrate a story to you that shows the evil and hurt behind flatteries:

A very long time ago in the animal kingdom, there was famine all over the land. The sparrow was given a big chunk of meat by her mother so she flew to a nearby tree to settle down and eat her meal. A dog was passing and saw the sparrow, he was so hungry so he reached out to her.

"My dear friend, Sparrow, I am very hungry and need your help. Can you please give me a tiny piece to last me to the village?" He asked. The sparrow murmured No.

The dog tried to explain to her but she was bent on not giving anyone the meal. He left the place disappointed. The fox was nearby and saw all that happened, he wanted the meat for himself so he approached her.

"Hey beautiful Sparrow." He said slowly. She looked down and bashed her eye lashes.

"I have seen your colorful. feathers from afar and I must confess, you are the most beautiful bird in the world." He continued. The sparrow was so impressed with his words, she felt light headed and he noticed that too.

"I bet you have the most beautiful voice in the world, just sing me a new song and I will be so happy cute bird."

Sparrow was so flattered, she opened her mouth to sing and the meat fell to the ground. The fox was happy, he took the meat and ran off. She watched in tears as he ran away with her meal. She learnt a new lesson that day.

From the story, dog came with honest intention and if she had given him a chunk of food, he would have left with a thankful heart. If tables turn one day, he would have repaid her one day. She lost everything to flatteries from the fox. Some girls have lost the right suitor or helper and made the wrong decision to go after the men that will coat them with flatteries.

Many people come to us with words that will soothe us but behind those words is just their want from us. Ask the ladies that are broken nowadays, they fell to the sweet mouth of a lustful man. Flattery is wrong and bad, nothing good comes out than hurt.

A simple compliment goes a long way than a tongue of flatteries that lead people on and eventually leave them heart broken. My advice to the ladies is simple, listen carefully to what men say tonyou, digest on it and differentiate compliment from flattery before making a judgement from it. The faster we can differentiate between flattery and compliment, the lesser the hurt.

To the guys out there, be careful who you hurt. One day, you will be a father to a beautiful and innocent daughter. Never forget Karma is real. Let your intentions be plain enough. There is someone out there that will accept you just the way you are. Thanks for reading my piece, bless you all.
