WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME
Hello and a pleasant morning to you from the Treasure Base of Nigeria.
How was your weekend?
I had a great time over week in God's presence at the Youth Alive Convention Live Broadcast in Port Harcourt, it was a refreshing experience.
So let's get into the post for today.

The theme of today's talk is a phrase that has come to be seen as negative with time, because most times when the media uses it, it is used to portray someone as being self-centred or selfish. While that may be true in some cases, we shouldn't throw away the baby with the bath water...
'What's in it for me?' is simply a statement that aims to help one assess an activity or endeavour to see if there's profit that is beneficial to the individual in question. Contrary to popular opinion, that isn't being self-centred, it is being selfless.
Truth is we have people who are more 'sentimental' with their decision making process than those who are thorough in it, after all we are in a 'do what you like, as you please' generation, and so when these first set of individuals use the above phrase, it's tilted more towards parasitic profit.
Knowing what one stands to benefit from an endeavour doesn't only serve as a motivating factor, it helps answer the question of conscience.
When an individual has completely assessed a line of action in relation to the profit they stand to make, then the decision to continue or abort is one that benefits humanity overall.
There are some actions which are more profitable to some individuals than others, not because of their rightness or wrongness, but simply because of their weight on the individual's priority list.
I personally as a beauty person ask what's in it for me a whole lot because admit it or not, some platforms are more beneficial to you than others can ever be, and this isn't just talking about financial gain. I'd gladly take some free job over some paid jobs, I'd rather stay at home than do some kind of jobs.
Lemme state a quick example, Imagine as a creative artist or public speaker, you are offered for the same time frame a million naira for a 10mins performance and also another self sponsored trip to the USA to perform for 3mins at the SUPERBOWL. Am sure you'll do everything possible to get the SUPERBOWL performance even though you'll be spending more than the million naira reward you'll have gotten from the other_
Ben Carson proposed a risk assessment test he uses before deciding to take on impossible cases, and I'd like to suggest that same test be used by you whenever you need to check how something profits you
- What do I GAIN by DOING THIS?
- What do I LOSE by DOING THIS?
- What do I GAIN by NOT DOING THIS?
- What do I LOSE by NOT DOING THIS?
Make fantastic decisions going forward that are beneficial to you and your future by assessing the profit you stand to gain.
It's a lovely week ahead, Never forget you have a bright future, so believe in that...
I hope you enjoyed today's talk...
