Do you ever notice what the dawn is really like? Take a look

at it some time and you will notice a regeneration taking

place.

Nature doesn't have to motivate itself to begin a new day.

It begins naturally with the dawn. The sun rises over the

horizon, animal sounds begin to pervade the silence, trees

and plants awaken and a new day has surfaced.

What is your dawn like? Do you wake up and habitually do the

same things without any real awareness?

Many people begin their days with an automatic set of

thoughts, actions and feelings. What we often forget is that

each dawn is an opportunity to create the day we want. It

doesn't "dawn" on us that we can do this so instead we let

the same old thoughts, feelings and actions take over and

then we wonder why our days seem to be the same.

The earth awakens each dawn to reveal life. How do you

awaken each day?

Here are some simple steps you can take to create your ideal

dawn:

  1. Stretch and Smile

Stretch your body in the morning. When you open your body up

you rejuvenate the flow of energy and this can shift the way

you feel to a more positive and optimistic tone. While you

do a little stretching keep a smile on your face because it

is your opportunity to rejuvenate your life!

  1. Stream of Consciousness Writing

This is a great morning ritual that can clear the "noise" in

your mind. Many people are burdened with a run-on mind that

has trouble slowing down. The exercise is called "Morning

Papers" and I first heard it from Julia Cameron; author of

"The Artist's Way".

Here's how it works. On three pages write everything that

comes to mind without any editing. Simply let the pen flow

across the page writing everything; even things like "I'm

stuck" or "this is ridiculous" or whatever it is. Upon

completion of the three pages throw the papers away. When

you do this you may find your mind far less "noisy".

  1. Create Your Day

With a quieter mind and more open body you can now sit for 3

to 5 minutes and literally create your day. What do you want

to see happen? How do you see yourself moving through your

morning?

Do you see effective conversations taking place or do you

see yourself handling difficult situations or people with

ease? Set the tone for your day and you will see a

difference in what you think, feel and do!
