Ignorance
Ignorance from the English dictionary is the condition of being uninformed or uneducated. Lack of knowledge or information.
I'll start with a story.
There was a boy who was chased out of school for not paying his school fees, so he went home and told his dad, his dad promised to pay it before he travelled the next day which he did without the boy knowing. So the following day the boy went to school and as the previous day he was chased out for not paying his fee, he was sad that his dad didn't make the payment despite promising to do so. He eventually had to stay at home for two weeks until his dad arrived from his journey. Then he went to meet his dad and asked him why he didn't pay his fees after promising him to do so, that he had to stay at home for two weeks until his arrival. His dad was angry for he had already made the payment as at when he promised. So he told son, he was shocked because his teacher had embarrassed him in class whereas his fees had been paid without both of them knowing. So the next day he went to school the same teacher wanted to chase him away this time, but with full confidence he said to the teacher I have been unjustly chased out of school for the past two weeks for a fee that has been paid by my dad long ago. The teacher doubted him and took him to the head of the school, behold it indeed was confirmed that his dad had made the payment long ago. The teacher then had to apologize to the boy.
From this story we could see that the boy couldn't exercise his right due to the fact that he was ignorant of the the fact that his dad had already paid his fee. When he eventually become informed, he knew that his place wasn't with those chased out from school as a result of them not paying their fee. No wonder the scripture says in Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. This can be likened to our lives, most of us are where we are to because we've refused knowledge. We are more satisfied with our current status that we shut ourselves from additional knowledge. Information they say is power, the more information you have at your disposal the more weapon (permit me to use this word) you have at your disposal. We should learn to crave for knowledge which is power.
