How to forget resentment to move forward in lifesteemCreated with Sketch.

People realise we construct ourselves a lot in response to others. Our surroundings teach us joys, love, disappointments, and anger, shaping us.

Unfortunately, others don't teach us to avoid negative comments that drag us back.

We see the universe Manicheanly, so sometimes we're confused: was this good or bad? Someone sweet or mean? To move forward in life, we must understand that some events are unclear and might have positive or negative outcomes.

We don't always realise that someone who rebukes us profoundly didn't ask themselves how we felt. To stop being bothered by these comments, we must disregard them.

We can't take every criticism personally. Some can help us build ourselves to be our best, but these are usually criticisms, not rebukes. As with burns, the agony we feel following a reproach is natural. However, we must realise that if being rebuked is normal, the resentment that sometimes lasts a long time and pollutes our thinking has no place.

Let go of resentment to progress. We all dramatise and think everything is horrible when we get a negative comment, therefore we give them more attention than they deserve. Self-sabotage is reality. Not being insensitive or not caring about others.

Instead, it's about avoiding danger. Therefore, we do not gratify those who attack us and think they are destabilising us. It takes fortitude to turn your back on toxic people and listen to their criticism in peace, knowing they won't reach us.

Sometimes we hurt ourselves more than others. We overemphasise others' statements and don't realise that we make them more harmful.

Have you ever thought, "I've been looked at badly", "I've been judged" or "I'm being criticised a lot"? We must learn to stand back when bad situations affect us more than happy ones. Our reality is skewed by our need to dramatise everything, so we think we're facing the ox when it's only the frog.

We undermine ourselves by doing so! We damage ourselves by overvaluing others' words. We naturally want to defend our ego, but we must not let pain take up space. Because do past criticisms affect our lives today? Should random phrases deter us from our dreams?

Resentment clogs our progress like quicksand. Eliminating dead weights and going forward with a light heart requires becoming master of your ideas and ignoring what others say about us.
