There's a future, only if you can see beyond your circumstances and past experiences. When you cannot look beyond your present circumstances and experiences, you will look down on yourself and lose hope in life. It's very difficult to see the future when clouded by your present circumstances. It makes you shortsighted and stagnated in Life. God is absolutely against stagnation and he doesn't want you to be static in any way. He wants you to look ahead in life. He sees a future in you and wants it realized. Its not His plan for you to be limited to a place or past experiences but to live up to His perfect will for your life.
Isaiah 43:18-19 The past is gone, there's nothing you can do. about it. The present is here, do what you can with it and make up for your past mistakes or failures. The future is before you look forward to it. Whatever your past maybe and whenever you are at present, learn to look forward to the future. The future is ahead of you and will make you always look ahead as you make up your mind to walk towards it.

Success is not determined by your circumstances

Cripple a man from a devastating accident and you have the gospel musical icon Yinka Ayefele. Lock a man in prison cell and you will have Olusegun Obasanjo and Nelson Mandela. Drop out of school as a teenager, rejected by the man who impregnated you and you will have Genevieve Nnaji one of the best actress in the Nigeria movie industry. Raise a man in abject poverty, sexually abused while growing up, hawked plantain on the streets just to survive and you will have Timaya one of Nigeria's best music star. Have a girl born into a family, where she lost her father at a young age, had to beg for money with her mom just to keep the family together and you will have Omotola Jolade Ekeinde a super star actress, who made the Times Magazine list for the Most Influential People in the World in 2003. Subject a man to so much poverty, that there was no home or shelter to live in, barely had to stay in a store, just big enough to contain only one mat, and you will have the award winning Nollywood actor Rasmey Noah.

Success is not found in your circumstances, success is overcoming your circumstances.

The journey into the future begins with the awareness of your four sights. It means you must look at four important aspects of your life before you can see the big picture of your future and begin to walk towards it. That was the realization God gave to Abraham at a very crucual time of his life. Genesis 13: 14-15 The four cardinal points, namely: North, South, East and West, which God told Abraham to look, refers to the four sights (North = insight, South = Shortsight, East = Hindsight and West = Foresight) that we must have about life to get the big picture of the future and walk towards it. The insight at the North makes you look inward to see who you are, while the Shortsight at the South, makes you look around to see where you are and the Hindsight at the East makes you look backward to see where you coming from and while the Foresight at the West makes you look forward to see where you are going in life. The outcome of all these is that they give you the big picture of the future and help you to walk towards it.

The first place that God told Abraham to look was the North. It means to have insight. That is the first thing that happens to a man when he comes to God or answers the call of God. First of all, God gives him insight to see who he is. This will help him to take a shortsight of where he is and the hindsight of where he's coming from, before he could finally have a foresight of where God is taking him to in life and have the big picture of the future. That was exactly what happened to Abraham when God told him to look northward, southward, eastward and westward. It means that Abraham looked inward to see who he was, downward to see where he was, backward to see where he was when God called him and made promises to him before he could see the big picture of where God was taking him to. The actualization of the big picture of the future you see also requires that you must know the thoughts of God towards you. This is because it helps you to see things the way God sees them and not be discouraged by the things He makes you go through to reach the future. Jeremiah 29:11 There's an expected end for you, a place that God is leading you to in life and wants you to end your life in this world. Anything short of it, isn't God's plan. Don't place a limitation upon yourself, because of past experiences nor become discouraged by your present unpleasant circumstances but look at the future. After trying to create the electrical bulb 99 times, without succeeding, Thomans Edison said "I didn't fail 99 times, I just discovered 99 ways that it didn't work." So my question to you, just before you can give up, have you tried the 99th time that it didn't work? No matter the unfavorable socio-economic or political situation of the country, low standard of living, high poverty level, poor educational system and even though the whole system be broken down with corruption, there's a future, only if you can see beyond your past experiences and your present circumstances.
