To my mind, this comes together with the life planning (limited time) concept by making goals. Perhaps you have a goal to try and see more live performances, rather than sitting in front of the TV. There are many types of performance, and some will be more challenging than others. Nipping out to watch a couple of standup comedians in a local venue, is not the same as attending a full performance of Wagner's Ring Cycle in Berlin.

So taking the levelling/scoring concept from before, but applying it to activities like this:

You start slow but doable and build more sophistication and commitment over time. But equally importantly there is a sense of urgency based on how much time is available to achieve some of the more advanced goals. If you want to walk the ten longest paths in the world or try every wine region then there are logistics and investments of time and money to plan.

This sort of goal identification with a curated and scored path can be applied to many areas, even those less obvious ones such as relationships. The goal may be to make five new friends in five years (real friends who would help you move house or look after your cat) or perhaps reconnect with five old friends. Perhaps the long-held dream is to support a cause or overcome a fear - become an accomplished public speaker, join toastmasters, speak to 10 people, then 50, 100, 1000, and be invited to MC on a regular basis.
