"You Must Always Be Willing to Work Without Applause." - Ernest Hemingway
A fitting quote for a Monday morning, another week to earn, and another weekend build up to squander it all.
Keep in mind that Hemingway was not only a brilliant literary force, he was also a dog in the boxing ring.

This man was fearless, and loved the drive of hard work with or without a luxurious lifestyle.
You must release the angst and anger of the day to day by focusing on what you want to accomplish, and doing it!
This is a dog eat dog world, and to survive you gotta nut up or shut up.
Here is one of my favorite quotes (passages) from an interview with the boxing legend Jack Dempsey about Hemingway:
"There were a lot of Americans in Paris and I sparred with a couple, just to be obliging, but there was one fellow I wouldn’t mix it with. That was Ernest Hemingway. He was about twenty-five or so and in good shape, and I was getting so I could read people, or anyway men, pretty well. I had this sense that Hemingway, who really thought he could box, would come out of the corner like a madman. To stop him, I would have to hurt him badly, I didn’t want to do that to Hemingway. That’s why I never sparred with him.
Enjoy your Monday, with or without the applause!

I like this idea of being willing to work without applause.
Our real heroism is the heroic struggle within our inner world. The struggle with our personal demons that has no fanfare or audience.
That is an excellent point, the struggles that mold us are those which others will never see.
A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act.
- Mahatma Gandhi
Beautiful quote, not sure of the relevance here though..
