Are you a scanner? Do you have multiple passions?...Embrace it gladly !steemCreated with Sketch.

I was always noticed of myself having too many hobbies and passions, or my intense desire to pursue multiple challenges. sometimes it seems you need to learn something new, and sometimes you feel your soul fueled by seeking a brand new knowledge or skill. Always keep doing something with a thirsty curiosity unless it becomes static and boring cause it shows no more problems to be solved, and no more complexity, so you quit ASAP.

If you had anything in common, then you should know your type of personality. there are specific words for that like "Multipotentialite" , "polymath" , "scanners" or "Renaissance Person", etc.

It might be crystal clear that the world of enterpreneurship, creativity or innovation needs this kind of human being. so if you've ever had any trouble prioritizing your passions or being scared what your career might be in future, you're not alone. In fact, you should embrace your multipotentiality gladly and use some advices and management skills to adjust your life and people's expectations based on your nature to see your highest superpowers.

There are lots of blogs and communities in which you can know your type better by reading other people's experiences and how you can define your most suitable career. for now, I just simply introduce these websites. you can spend hours reading while becoming amazed that you were not alone.

Guiding ideals for scanners

But in case Linkedin is mostly about developing one's career, I tried to write some tips and how-to steps helping you choose your passions easier.

1.if you want a serious long lasting career, its better to chose something interdisciplinary.

some arts or fields of education and science are interdisciplinary in nature. this feature can help you to find challenging moments at work and dealing with two or more passions instead of sticking to one of them. these fields can be Architecture, Computer graphics, etc. I myself found artificial intelligence as the best interdisciplinary field. as even your thesis can be about anything you like concerning all the problems in any science that are still unsolved.

2.what about being "a jack of all trades and master of none ONE.

although time seems limited and many people are giving advices like: "hey, you should pick one passion. you don't have time for all of them in your life." BUT, in fact, you have enough time for being a specialist in one of your passions and pursue other interests as well to satisfy your inner curiosity. So don't worry about time. Generally speaking, spending 60% of your time for being an specialist is enough, then you can have the rest dabbling in other interests. But...Better to read the next

3.how to avoid distractions while doing a project? try "TimeBoxing"

its not hard to guess what is timeboxing. You can just google it. you see? its a time management skill.
BUT there's one more issue. I felt it seems defining time limits in a daily schedule is not feasible for me. And I found it impossible to concentrate on a problem for just 2 hours a day and then leave it. I can't tear apart a day to separate short chapters. when I dive into something, I forget eating my meal and when I finish, I realize it took me the whole day. so my idea was about using TimeBoxing to dedicate each day of week to each of your passions. Like :
saturday, sunday > college projects and thesis
monday,tuesday > project A
wednesday > project B
thursday > reading and discovering new creativities
...and so on...

3.if you're not a manager, explain to your boss how you are !

you wanna know my story? I had a job in which i had so much free time doing nothing, although the salary was great, I quitted; the simple as that !!!
believe me if you dont quit, you'll eventually get bored and lose your performance, even you might do something that can be interpreted as the "lack of commitment" and thats the worst career background. So if your thirsty mind is as this hard to settle, explain to your boss how you are !

4.Please be an enterpreneur...At least once in your lifetime !

In any career or expertise, you can hear discussions around the cons and pros of being a specialist or a generalist. Conclusion of these debates are obvious. But I see something more important in this Conclusion. its essential and vital to be a generalist and have a broad knowledge of different aspects of something to be an enterpreneur. consider yourself having enough knowledge in an art and a science and some coaching skills and also having some experiences in management and advertisement and so on..Isn't it the most ideal status to start a career and gain the upper hand among others?
Finally most of scanners are hard-worker and perseverant and they don't settle unless the problem is solved. This is a gift. you're not doing something to be paid. your doing it for the sake of engagement. and most of the successful characters in history say : "DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND LOVE WHAT YOU'RE DOING."
