Yea, You Are Busy. I am Busy Too... And We Are Both Stupid.
Do not worry, I know you are probably busy, and I don't have much time to spend either because I am busy myself. So I will make this quite short and precise. Ain't expressions like this one of the ways we try to let people perceive our importance;
"I don't have much time to spend"
" I am busy"
And similar statements like these. Because if we don't express ourselves like this, people wouldn't possibly know how important we are, right?
This is absolutely WRONG!

Overtime, I've discovered that the most successful and most productive individuals are though busy but never make any hassle over that, neither would they make you realize that they actually are. They'll actually find and spend time listening to you as if you are their only goal. You will always find them wholly present, maximizing every moment of your meeting/interaction.
However, for the majority of the rest of us, we simply waste our time and compete with ourselves over this shameful act while yet posing to the rest of the world that we are quite "busy"... I mean, "Can't they see?" while what we actually do is waste time on things that are not worth it thus leaving us with very little of that time to actually invest on things that are worth it, things that matter. Which could be honing our professional skills, pursing our career goals or business opportunity, or simply investing more time in the company of the people we love.
So why do we actually spend so much time wasting it down the drain and yet making every attempt to pose some form of busyness to the world? Well, the answer is not far fetched, our society today has come to glorify the art of being busy thus tricking the majority of us into believing that being busy is synonymous to being important.
Well, in my opinion, being Busy is being a Daft or Dim-Witted. Do not mind me... Mind my words!
Being busy simply make us prone and vulnerable to shortsightedness, to mistakes, to expansion of blind spots, to the occurrences of more coulda-woulda-shouldas. In fact, busyness creates for us Regrets. And for regrets,
Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. - Sydney J. Harris
So when next you are calling off a meeting or gathering with the excuse of being busy, simply note that you might come to regret that decision someday, and regret sucks! You are also sending messages that actually show how incompetent you might be at handling tasks.
Well, I once overheard some senior principals of a tech firm having a discussion on similar issue. One was complaining to his partner how people presently feign busyness when they are, in fact, not doing anything at all. The concerned, or simply worried, colleague thus sought for the opinion of his partner on this. The partner responded that it would have been best if the "busy guys" could just have responded to invitations for meet-ups, gatherings or meeting as not having these gatherings as a priority rather than feigning busyness.
This sounds simple enough, though but in truth, it is the best response I could reckon with after having spent private moments to ponder on the issue. It is true. I do that too, and I mist bet you do that as well; avoiding a schedule by trying to feign busy-ness. What if we just disclose to the other party/ies that meeting with them isn't a priority to us? Well, that would be hard, right? Well, then we may need to re-prioritize our time and, perhaps, consider meeting them instead of spending the time watch Prison Break or playing video games.

Lol...very interesting and very funny as well...its a true fact that happens in our every day life...the article was cool too
Thank you very much for stopping by, Bro. I am very glad you find this interesting and amusing at the same time.
Thanks for your time
Extremely ludicrous, no one is actually busy for people they care about, its a matter of priorities
Very true,
Thanks for stopping by.
Well.... This is sadly true as most us now lie about being busy to avoid people
Thanks for reading through. I appreciate your time.
I experienced this yesterday. I invited some people to a Life changing event and some gave excuses on why they will not come.
Most of them spent the evening doing Irrelevant things.
Reading this post just brought back the memories.
People make decisions that affect their Lives negatively. And Regret is one of the worst feelings you can have
Thanks for this
Thanks for stopping by and for the comment. We are seldom busy. It is all a matter of priority. We will always choose what we care about over all others.
Uhmmmmm....I get your point, absolutely. But I also know quite a number of genuinely busy people whose schedules are really crazy. Not everybody forms busy, some actually are. There is a need to have a priority list and attend to important things first. I would be too busy for certain kinds of interactions at certain times of the day when I'm doing things i consider to be priority for me. Just my thoughts though
That's the point, @mosunomotunde. We choose to engage in somethings over others due to the position they engage in our hearts, so also do we treat people. We will always find time for those we love no matter the amount of engagement we have before us. But most time, people waste time thinking they are are "busy", thats the point of this article. We should always review the engagements we are bouncing if they are worth bouncing or worth our time... we will always find excuse somehow.
Uhmmm...true! I get your point
I wonder whether we humans can ever be more busier than insect.
Everything is all about planning, nothing like being busy. If we truly value something, we will definitely and always make out time for that thing.
I love this piece
