DREAMS WITH DEADLINES
many of us have dreams and goals but we lack the passion to pursue it.
For you to reach your goal you have to have the zeal and passion to reach that your goal, it's up to you to set goals and direct your passion at purpose. Start making changes today that will get you to where you want to be tomorrow.
Dare to dream, and then set deadline for realizing those dreams.
Don't just dream or have a goal, but give yourself time to reach those goals, it will motivate you the more.
“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken
down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your
dreams come true.” Greg S. Reid
Try and take some quiet time Today and write down your dreams for your life. What you enjoy doing, what can you do for hours and hours and enjoy so much that you lose track of time. What are you better at than anyone you know.
It doesn't have to be a great and unique talent like playing the piano or building skyscrapers, the level of talent isn't nearly as the intensity of your passion.
“Set daily, monthly, and long-term goals and dreams. Don’t ever be
afraid to dream too big. Nothing is impossible. If you believe in
yourself, you can achieve it.” Nastia Liukin
When you've identified your purpose and passion, put a deadline on it. Don't make it a vague wish, you don't want to say "I want to make a lot money soon" that won't get you anywhere, instead set a goal of making an exact amount by an exact date, the more specific you are, the better.
Once you have identified your goal or goals make a list of smaller goals that can be achieved in the short term.
These are the mini-goals that will take you step-by-step towards your greater goals.
For example if your goal is to go to school and get a BSc or MBA set mini-goals to raising the tuition fee or applying for a scholarship. Other mini-goals may include you selecting a school and also selecting a course of study.
Your goal might also be to get promoted in your place of work.
You can start with selecting the position you want to be promoted to, and then talking to your supervisor about what you need to do to get the job, then you set those tasks as mini-goals along the way.
“Take it day by day. Results don’t come overnight. Change doesn’t
happen immediately. Keep working towards your goals.” Anonymous
STEPS IN CREATING A WORK LIFE GAME PLAN.
- After writing down your long-term career goal, next list a series of step-by-step specific positions you
want to reach with specific salary level for each. - You can create mini-goals that adds value to your main goal, such as more advanced degree, special training, etc...
- Put dead line on each set of goals and Mimi-goals, starting with one month to three months, six months, one year, five years or ten years.
- For each mini-goal write a positive affirmation stating why the goal is important to you and how it will help you move closer to your primary goal.
With these method you can be able to remain focused to reaching your goal.
“Set your goals. Make the plans. Get to work. Stick to it. Reach your
goals.” Anonymous
