مدينة سدوم / City of Sodom

مدينة سدوم، وقد أطلق عليها بعض المؤرّخين اسم مدينة الخطيئة، يُطلق عليها المسلمون اسم مدينة قوم لوط، وهي مدينة قديمة جداً، كان يسكنها قوم لوط عليه السلام قبل أن يحلّ بهم غضب الله تعالى، وتقع مدينة سدوم في المنطقة الشرقية من نهر الأردن، في حي تل الهمام، في منطقة البحر الميت، وقد كشفت الآثار والتنقيبات التي استمرّت لعدة عقود عن وجود بقايا لمدينة سدوم؛ حيث تبيّن بعد الكشف أنّها تعود إلى العصر البرونزي، حيث يعود تاريخها ما بين ثلاثة آلاف وخمسمئة سنة قبل الميلاد إلى ألف وخمسمئة وأربعين سنةً قبل الميلاد.
