Petra
Petra is located in the south of Jordan in Wadi Araba, which is located in the Jordanian province of Ma'an. The city enjoys a very beautiful architectural style and features carved stone architecture. The city was the capital of the ancient Nabatean Arabs. It was built by the Nabataeans in 312 BC and was a major center of commerce in the region because of its unique strategic location, which made it a major route of trade between civilizations. The city was discovered by Swiss traveler Joan Lewis Berkharart in 1812.
