Before you own any Bitcoin, you need to store them. This place is called a "wallet". In fact, compared to maintaining your Bitcoin, it is personal care that allows you to reach your bucket address (which is also your public key). If Wallet software is well-designed, these are actually your Bitcoin as soon as possible, which uses more convenient and intuitive than Bitcoin.

Actually, a wallet usually holds several private keys, and many bucket investors have many wallets.

The wallet can be either on your computer and / or mobile device, on physical storage gadgets or on the piece of paper. Here we will look at different types of shortcuts.

Electronic wallets

The electronic wallet can be downloaded software, or hosted in the cloud. The former is just a formatted file that remains on your computer or device, which facilitates transactions. Hosted (cloud-based) wallet has a more user-friendly interface, but you're counting on third party with your private keys.

Software wallet

Installing a bitboat directly on your computer gives you your protection that you control your keys. The maximum simpler layout is, and are free. The damage is that they need further maintenance in backup format. If your computer is stolen or damaged and your private keys are not protected anywhere, you lose your buttons.

They also need security caution too much. If your computer is hacked and your thief gets your wallet or your private keys, it also gets your Bitcoin.

The original software is Wallet Bitcoin Core Protocol, this program runs the Bitcoin network. You can download it here (it does not mean you will have to be fully operational node), but you will have to download all transaction leaders since the end of Bitcoin Time (2009). As you can guess, it reminds you a lot - writing time, over 145GB.

Today's use is the wallet "lightweight" wallet, or SPV (easy payment validation) wallet, which do not download the entire laser but sync the real thing. The electromagnet is a well-known SPV desktop bacterial purse offering "cold storage" (fully accessible option for additional security). External can track multiple assets with a better user interface. Some (such as jacksx) have a wide range of digital assets, and some (like caps) offer the possibility of joint accounts.

Online wallet

Online (or cloud-based) wallet facilities are offered - if you have the right password, you can usually access your buttons from any device. All are easy to set up, come with desktop and mobile apps as easy as they spend and receive, and are the most free.

Damage is low security. With its private keys stored in the cloud, you will have to trust the host security measures, and do not disappear or stop it from your money and refuse access to you.

Some important online wallets are associated with exchange (such as Coinbus and Blockchain). Some additional features include offline storage (Coinbass and zip)

Mobile wallets

Mobile Beta is available as apps for your smartphone, especially useful if you want to make a small box in a shop, or if you want to buy, sell or send on this move. Most of the most online wallets and the above desktops are mobile versions, while others - such as Ibrahim, Air Butts and Bread - are born in mobile mind.

Hardware wallets

Hardware wallets are small devices that sometimes link to the web to enforce bactone transactions. They are extremely safe because they are usually offline and are not capable of hacking. They can be stolen or lost, however, as well as bactokos that are related to the saved private keys. Some big investors have kept their hardware wallets stored on a secure bank such as bankruptcy. Treasures, cakes and leaders and cases are notable examples.

Paper wallets

Perhaps the best of all wallets, these are pieces of paper on which private and public keys printed on the bucket address are printed. Ideal for long-term storage to bactock as batteries (away from fire and water), or gifts, these wallets are more secure in the network that are not connected to the network. However, it's easy to lose.

With services such as WalletGenerator and BitcoinPaperWallet, you can easily create a new address and print the wallet on your printer. Fool, cell and you are set. Send some addresses as well, and then store it safely or remove it.

Are bitcoin wallets safe?

Depending on the version and shape you selected, and how you use them.

The safest option is a hardware wallet you keep offline, in a safe place. There is no risk that your account may be hacked, your keys are stolen and your wholesale may be damaged. But, if you lose the wallet, you are run a little bit comfortable, unless you have created clones and / or keys to make sure you have a backup backup.

The least secure option is an online wallet, because keys are held by a third party. It is also the easiest to set up and use, presenting you with a very familiar selection: Protect facility versus convenience.

As serious as many critics, investors have used hybrid approaches: they keep an important, long-term amount of Bacticine, while a mobile account has a "balance of balance" for liquidity rate. Your choice depends on your bacterial strategy, and you want to get "technical".

Whatever you choose, please be careful. Back up everything, and just tell your nearest and dearest where your backups are stored.

(Note: The specific businesses mentioned here are not the only available options, and should not be taken as a recommendation.)
