Sardinia at dawn

Amid the cares of a twenty-something life... here then, is a morning away from the routine.

5.30am. Torre di Bari. On a tiny outcrop of Sardinia.

A stretch of sand, the endless ocean, a breath-taking sunrise -- observed by none except me.

In a city, you never have total solitude - there is always someone else. People scurrying about their own routines. People earning a living 24-7. People out for a jog at all hours of the day. But here, suddenly, a vast expanse of beauty -- and me.

The tip of a golden orb peeping out now over the waves in the distance.

And now a full golden ball lifting free of the water and bobbing upwards lining the clouds with a streak of gold.

And it reminds me of the power of mornings. Coffee. Laughter & gossip. The clatter of a new day. A time of energy and dreams. And possibilities.
