White-tail DeersteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello Steemians

Deer and moose belong to the Cervidae family.
As well as elk, cariboo, and reindeer.

I took a hike this blustery morning, -22C and saw
this herd of deer.
Most were laying down, probably trying to stay warm
and catch the little bit of sunshine that was....

peeking through.
Some animals are devasted by urbanisation, while
some like the white-tail deer thrive.
Feasting on farmers corn and grain, and even in....

the city they are plentiful. Living in parks, conservation
areas, and wondering down city streets eating in the
yards of homes.

Out hiking in those temperatures makes you a real Canadian whereas I'm a poor excuse for one! lol

haha...well you live in Ottawa...that is a lot more severe then Hamilton....

Woohoo what a cool whitetail deer!
Really cold one sounds like! :-)
We know just how cold that can feel, it
makes +22 feel like a heatwave lol

Very interesting to learn what family
the moose and deer belong to!

Thank you so much for showing this
beautiful deer for #moosemonday
@karbon!

Thanks @shasta, was a bit of a stretch fitting a deer into moosemonday, thought I better give a bit of an explanation...lol

Always fun to find deer laying in the forest. Makes you feel like you saw them first. ha ha Versus so often you stumble upon wildlife and only notice it running away

haha, yes exactly....this conservation area is right within the city so they are quite use to people, otherwise I could never get so close.
