When the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and covers the Moon with its shadow, we say that total Lunar Eclipse has taken place.

Lunar eclipse on 31 January 2018 was special because on this day people got the privilege to see the first SUPER BLUE BLOOD MOON since 1982.

We called it super moon as it was at its closest point to the earth, making 14 percent bigger and up to 30 percent brighter.

We called it blue moon because it was the second full moon of the month and a blue moon happens when two full moons occur within the same calendar month. Despite their names, blue moon don't actually appear blue.

The total Lunar eclipse also gained a title of red blood moon because when the moon is covered by earth's shadow some of the light from earth sunrises and sunsets falls on the moon and makes it appear red.
