When i tried my 150-600mm Sigma lens last year i also tried some closeup pictures of the moon when we had full moon some day. I really had luck and the air was really clear that day, so i could really zoom in. This picture is a Crop of a 600mm picture on APSC. So this lens is not only good for wildlife and animalphotography but also very nice when you like to take some pictures of our galactic naightbour.
I already tried to take pictures of the moon on different times because sometimes it's not so easy because of clouds or dust in the sky and the picture doesn't get so clear. For taking picture of the moon you need a pretty fast exposure time because it is pretty bright in the sky. You get much better structures on the surface when you have a clear sky and a fast exposure time.
