Swords in Rock Stavanger, Norway
We stopped by the “Swords in rock” monument in Hafrsfjord just outside Stavanger. Martin had never seen it before and wanted a closer look.
The monument commemorate the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord which by tradition took place here in the year 872, when King Harald the Fair Hair gathered all of Norway under one crown.
The three bronze swords stand about 10 meters (33ft) tall. The largest represent the victorious King Harald, and the two others represent the two kings who lost the battle. The swords also represents peace, since they are planted into solid rock and may never be removed.

What a wonderful sight! Lovely. Upvoted and followed. I'm having a "Viking Day" today, collecting people who might be interested in my posts (not just followers who've attached to boost their accounts). This is a short Norway post of mine. If you like it, please follow me. Thanks :)
