We usually get more rain during end of the year and beginning of the year that's one part of the monsoon. The other part is around August but usually not as much. Time for a revision. So, I did a search and found.

However, there are two main monsoon seasons in Singapore: Northeast Monsoon Season (December-March) and the Southwest Monsoon Season (June-September). You would be surprised to know that the Northeast Monsoon has a “wet phase” (December and January) and a “dry phase” (February and March).
