Thank you, Denise. Much appreciated.
This kale is actually edible and very delicious. I was wondering how long it will resist before being turned into salad. 😂

We love kale in our family… but not in salads. I cook it with green onion and fresh parsley; this mixture is good with celery and carrots too. Sometimes, I use a little chicken soup base or vegetable broth instead of salt to cook it.

Another great recipe that I must try. Thank you for the tip. Most likely I will harvest some kale from the park...not before photographing it. 😂
Kale is not an usual vegetable for the Romanians. Our people are very fond of cabbage. But those who tried it, just love it.

It was poor folks food when I was little. Then, it caught on as a “superfood” here and got up-marketed. Now, it’s a little pricey, compared to other greens. But, I’d rather spend twice as much for kale than to eat collards or turnip greens. BLECH! I loathe both.

Oooh... I love collards and turnips. I always did. When I was a kid, I used to steal these greens from my grandparents garden and eat them raw. It was our lunch as we wanted to avoid the afternoon nap which was a must. 🙂
Kale is quite expensive here too. It is a shame to have such high prices on food. Natural food, not that filled with chemicals. Where are the good old times when people used to grow their own food?

I was that way about spinach. Spinach and kale used to be very inexpensive here – they were cheaper than collard or turnip greens (which were still inexpensive). Now, kale is three times the price of collards. Spinach is nearly twice the cost. Millennials latched onto those foods as sexy super foods. It’s not sexy to eat collards. And, of course, trendy and sexy are reasons to drive up the price. 🙄

Spinach is really cheap here. Everybody buy it hoping to become Popeye the sailor. 🙂
Unfortunately we have these "influencers" who started to dictate the trends. And prices go up according to their taste. We are living weired times, my dear. 😔

Canned or frozen spinach is cheap here. Fresh spinach, especially baby spinach, is pricy when compared to collard or turnip greens, but less than kale. We use fresh baby spinach for salads and sandwiches all the time.
