Monster Hunter World
Hello everyone,
I mentioned some time ago that I was excited for Monster Hunter World. I've now had a chance to play it and I have to say that my excitement was not put in vain. The game has been fun to play and in my opinion even with the few launch bugs, there was not any content that was harmed to the extent that made me stop playing the game.
First of all if you don't know the game was made by Japanese developers and has actually been popular in Japan before being widely appreciated in the Western World. The game very much has a feeling of BIG extravagent weapons that are very "anime" but still are quite fun to use. My brother has put probably double the amount of time that I have put into the game but his weapon choice is different than mine so our fighting strategies differ.
I will probably discuss more about the game soon but I did want to mention something I noticed when playing this game. I have recently also started experimenting with playing Minecraft and found that I liked it more than I anticipated. I soon realized that both Monster Hunter Wolrd and Minecraft have a similar quality that has actually made me want to play both of these games equally. The concept is that in order to get to the harder stuff you are forcedto deal with the lighter stuff.
Let me explain. In Minecraft you must build/craft certain gear or products until you have the ability to get more advanced gear. This is simple but it makes you want to play more into the game so that you can get to the Nether or finally be able to beat Endermen. In Monster Hunter World, you kill weaker monsters in order to craft armor or weapons to take out the bigger monsters. There is definitely less creativity in Monster Hunter World but the graphics are so well done and the gameplay is really fun that you find yourself fighting the next monster on your list just because you want to see how they fight and to get better gear that also looks "cooler" than what you had before.
If you haven't had the chance I highly recommend playing both games and see if you notice what I am talking about and feel free to leave your comments and experiences below.
Happy hunting,
Vincent
