The Unusual Monster owned a big sponge that they would put in the bath with him. It should have been an exciting approach to life, to me and my husband, but not to the Monster, who expected it would be out of this world. Bizarrely, a big sponge is the thing to opt for.

The Unusual Monster wanted a toilet brush that they would put down their trousers. It should be a different idea, to you, but not to the Monster, who felt that this idea is epic. A toilet brush is the thing to opt for.

The Unusual Monster desperately desired a pint of cider that they would occasionally rub on his belly. It would be a fairly surprising thing to do, to me, my mum and my dad, but not to the Monster, who expected that this idea is out of this world. A pint of cider would be the item that was selected.

The Unusual Monster desperately desired a can of Tango that they would sometimes drop. This seems to be a weird suggestion, to you and me, but not to the Monster, who feels it would be awe-inspring. You wouldnt have thought, a can of Tango was the chosen thing.
