Monomad - A stunning theater in the middle of a very busy street.
Hello again, monochromatic enthusiast! This time I'm gonna show you one of my favorite buildings in the whole world: The Colón Theater. In one simple word: stunning. There's so much going on in this theater and also around him, it's located in one of the most busy zones of the City of Buenos Aires: near the main courthouse.
The "Teatro Colón" is actually an opera house. Due to its size, acoustics and trajectory, it's considered one of the five best in the world. The floor, with design of guards and decorative motifs, is covered by tiles of irregularly shaped stoneware. Above the foyer (or lobby, I was just being fancy) is an octagonal glass dome brought from the Gaudin house in Paris. It has eight muses "that invite the viewer to climb the world of the arts", I must admit that they are very proud of their dome .. It's one of the things that anybody mentions you when talking about theater.
Pretty impressive huh? Is one of the most touristic places of Buenos Aires, definitely a "must visit". Funny part for me, is that it's located near the coffee shop where my roommate works, so I pass infront of it like 4 times per week.

Magnificent architecture. Want to examine it in every detail. Columns, arched Windows, bas-reliefs-all his appearance suggests that this is not a simple building. Thanks for the great shot :)

I am amazed at how well brick lines of the theater pop in this image. Being black and white takes nothing away. And the cloud swirling above - classic!
I believe the b&w gives the details more impact!
