Monomad Entry for December 16th, 2018 — "Building Thunderclouds"
This is our entry for December 16th for the #monomad challenge of black-and-white photography, originally started by @brumest:
I have toyed with the idea of doing an "artistic" series of photos, so I thought we'd try this as a daily challenge on behalf of the Red Dragonfly Gallery for a while. Today marks our 6th entry into this endeavor!
"Building Thunderclouds"
It's extremely rare that we get "dramatic" weather, here on the coast of Western Washington... this part of the world is best known for its soft gray days and pervasive drizzle.
Took this quite rare shot of thunderheads building over Whidbey Island this past summer, walking back to the car after working at the gallery. It was cool to see these clouds building... a sight I remember well from my years of living in Texas, but quite unusual here.

Red Dragonfly Gallery News:
It was a rainy and cold day today, not an unusual thing, in this part of the world. Our number of visitors was unusually low, for a Sunday in December... even for a rainy day. Just a couple of small sales barely paid for the cost of keeping the electricity on. Hopefully things will be a bit better this coming week.
Otherwise, I started the somewhat sad and laborious process of determining which artists will get the sad news after the first of the year that we will no longer represent them, due to a lack of interest and sales. It's not a task I enjoy, but nobody gains anything from having their work shown, but never getting sold.
