I've got my eyes on you...

... The title could very well be what this water monitor (Varanus salvator) had in his mind, as I was getting closer to get a photo. He didn't seem that aggressive, but fortunately my camera has a great optical zoom!

Water monitors are very common in Asia, and are one of the two species of monitor lizards that exist in Sri Lanka. Found this one basking near the big lake in Kandy... unaware that he would be featured in a #monomad challenge in the near future.
