La Catedral de San José es un templo católico ubicado en en la calle Ricaurte junto a la plaza Bolívar de Puerto Cabello, cercano al hermoso casco histórico de esta ciudad portuaria del litoral central venezolano. Construida usando las piedras coralinas de las cercanías, su historia se remonta a 1851 cuando el Congreso Nacional aprobara el otorgamiento de unos terrenos para su construcción que concluiría al año siguiente.​ Posteriormente sufriría numerosas modificaciones, llegando incluso a ser usada temporalmente como prisión.

En su exterior puede observarse una gran torre en uno de sus laterales, además posee una gran nave central donde se ubica el altar mayor, y naves laterales que albergan diferentes capillas. Sería bendecida en 1999.

La imagen original fue tomada a color algunos años atrás, durante una corta visita que realizara a Puerto Cabello, y la modifiqué haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que me proporciona la aplicación PicsArt. En este sentido, empleé una superposición de filtros, comenzando con un filtro del tipo HDR (High Dynamic Range) con la finalidad de ampliar los tonos de la imagen original, y posteriormente un filtro sencillo de Blanco & Negro, un procedimiento que ya he usado, y descrito con anterioridad en otras publicaciones.

The St. Joseph's Cathedral is a Catholic temple located in Ricaurte street next to the Bolivar square of Puerto Cabello, near the beautiful historic center of this port city of the Venezuelan central coast. Built using the nearby coral stones, its history dates back to 1851 when the National Congress approved the granting of land for its construction that would conclude the following year.Then it would undergo numerous modifications, even being temporarily used as a prison.

The original image was taken in color a few years ago, during a short visit to Puerto Cabello, and I modified it using the editing tools provided by the PicsArt application. In this sense, I used a filter overlay, starting with a filter of the HDR (High Dynamic Range) type in order to expand the tones of the original image, and then a simple Black & White filter, a procedure that I have already used , and described previously in other publications.
