If you don't know her yet, her name is Nadezhda which translates as Hope. I always start with this fact. For different reasons/ Maybe I can't even explain them but it is somehow important to me. I will not share my current thoughts about it because they make me very, very sad. I was sad when I took the photos and I was sad when I edited them.

My fiancée brought me to the place and introduced me to the master whose house she was drawing right then. I will show you Silviya's finished painting in a comment below.

I want to be positive. I am glad keepers of the mountain villages are still there and live lives closer to nature than most of us.

Balkan is one of the names of the mountain range, crossing Bulgaria west to east. It is also the namesake of the Balkan Peninsula. It was home and shelter to many of our ancestors and it could still be associated to the backbone of our land. It looks like one.
