Monomad Macro Monday

Finally I have one that shows one of my favorite targets. I've not seen as many this year. I think the extremely hot dry weather is making them less prolific than usual. With fewer insects around, insect eaters are probably struggling, which both leaves these hungry and probably makes them more popular with birds and other predators.

This is a smaller female orb spider. This photo is cropped. It looks pretty cool in color also, because the background is a very intensely blue sky.
