Looking At Life In Black And White! This Is My Entry For The #monomad Challenge!

About two years ago, In the area we live in they put in a huge solar field! They were paying to have the pallets hauled off and the company hauling them were then selling the pallets. So I found out who the superintendent was and went to talk to him about getting some pallets if I hauled them for free.

Naturally, he said, "Sure we would love for you to do that!" So he would have his guys bring them outside the gate for me, they were moving them anyway to a central location for them to be picked up. We hauled them with a little trailer we had, it was a 4x12 trailer, we could get 20 or so at a time.

These were not pine pallets, they are hardwood, they are mahogany or something and heat-treated, they came from Indonesia I believe he told me, as that is where the solar panels were shipped from. I used the pallets to build a pallet cabin and also used them for a front and back porch for the mobile office trailer we remodeled and turned into a little house.

We hauled pallets 7 days a week for about 3 weeks. We lost count of the pallets we hauled after a week or so and it was around one thousand pallets at that time. We still have a lot of pallets left to use for different things. some were broken so we will work at taking them apart and making tables and such with them. My son made some outdoor furniture with some of them, not sure what we will do with them all as of yet. Maybe make some fences or build some other things like a shed or more cabins. There is a lot of things you can do with pallets and my son and the grandkids like to build things with them and they have fun doing that!
