Xmas Ball
In Puerto Rico we have the longest Christmas. We start celebrating November 1st and end in the 2nd - 3rd week of January. Almost 3 months of Christmas food, drinks and celebrations.
You can see decorations everywhere even in October. People decorates everything: homes, cars, yards, pets... Every single thing. The biggest celebrations are Christmas eve, Christmas day, new year's eve, new year day, wise men day, then we have 8 days of celebration and then an international festival called "Las fiestas de la calle San Sebastian"... that's the last day of Christmas celebration. Then 1-2 weeks later we're ready to celebrate Valentines and fill our belly with choco!
We have all kind of desserts and drinks made with coconut. You can find everywhere roasted pork, pasteles (a dough made of plantains and tubers filled with stewed pork), potato and pasta salad, pinneaple ham, guineitos en escabeche (boiled green bananas in a sauce of vinegar, olive oil and herbs) and lots of delicious stuff. I always make the tembleque (coconut custard) and the coquito (coconut drink). Something tells me I'm gonna end up rolling instead of walking when our Christmas season ends!

That's wild. I had no idea. I don't put up the decorations until December 1st. Puerto Rico sounds like a lot of fun.

A long christmas time indeed !! I still have two reindeers on my kitchen glass that are very happy to already be on the place for the next christmas ! =D I'm very lazy for taking off the decorations ;-)
