Monochrome Monday - Plitvice Lakes National Park Croatia

These are a few shots that I took at the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia.
It's a very beautiful park filled with all kinds of lakes with super-clear water and very pretty water-falls. I didn't have a lot of time to walk there, so I couldn't take a lot of pictures.

We had to travel a few hours from where we were staying to get there and it was a thrilling ride. I think when we were halfway there, the GPS made us go off the highway. We traveled quite a distance through a forest and whenever we got up to an open field that could look over the mountains, all we could see were trees, trees, trees. While driving there, we never encountered anybody else and the gas-meter was going towards the Empty sign. Luckily just before it would actually hit empty we got into a little town with a gas-station. With no cell-phone reception out there and not really knowing where we were we really dodged the bullet there.

To get to the starting-point you need to get up with one of these shuttle-buses. It's very hot inside during the Summer.
