Monochrome Monday - A Colourless Age
I've been busy...
I know it's been a while since my last post, in my defense, I've been quite busy lately. In fact, time has flown by. It's made me wonder about my future, and...old age.
I'm a young guy, and unfortunately us young people seldom reflect on the elderly, wise and experienced.
Bloom certainly does believe itself to be sage.
In any case, sometimes life has done a number on people. Even the fine lady in this here photo doesn't quite look like someone having a very colorful day. But I'm sure she would tell you that everything we experience in life can add colors to our life, as a painter to a canvas.

My advice to fellow bloomers: Take the time to reflect on what your elders have been through, inquire about the complexities of life and allow their knowledge to seep into your heart.

You reminded me of my grandpa... They always had a story to tell, and they lived in a world that was long way different! Pure, precious and free life-knowledge!
When spending time with them we can travel through time @airmatti. Thanks for your personal experience.
That is such a beautiful way of putting it. You can travel through the past and your possible future with stories and experiences they'd share. Very thoughtful post btw.

Oh I love this. The lady has quite a harsh expression - a set mouth - but you have created a beautifully soft image around this that makes you soften towards her and wonder at her life. As opposed to just judging the downturned mouth.

You are totally right. Elderly people deserve so much more respect and our support as it is them who built life for us so we could enjoy the way we are living. And i am speaking here in general, as you can not speak names here. Some did more, some did less, but we owe that generation that has been through wars, recessions and other tough times. Their opinions might be very different than ours, but we must not forget that in comparison with their experiences we are living in a dream. Most of us.

Take some time to know some WWII vets. They will all be gone one day and there can't be very many left. Luckily about 15 years ago my history teacher made an assignment where we all went and interviewed family WWII vets and made a book for us to remember. There will be a lot of knowledge and history that is lost with them once they're gone if they don't pass on there story.

Tbh the elderly aren't the one with the most knowledge or wisdom right now. They can't keep up with where the world is heading... Heck things are changing fast right now ^.^
They carry knowledge of the past and wisdom for the future @droucil. But you're right, this modern world must be very confusing for many older ones.
Of course I don't dismiss them entirely... (well it depends who the person in case is :P)
