Monochrome Monday: Girl on Film
I made this photo of a friend on a train some 35 years ago. It was shot on Ilford FP4+ film, which was developed in a non-standard way to enhance the grain. The original wet print required some exposing trickery to get that silky, 1930s-postcard effect.
The version you see here was scanned from the negative and postprocessed to get the same effect. The grain doesn't show the way I want it to, because of downsampling to screen resolution, but the silkiness is still there:
Praktica B200, Sigma 80-200 @80, Iford FP4+, scanned from the negative with a Nikon Coolscan V ED
Thanks for watching!
I've been looking at this for too long!!
Fantastic! Very sensual photo!
Thank you!
It does work to give it a dreamy vibe and a vintage feel to it
The dreamy feeling of the picture is so good, my friend.
Especially the softness seems to shine more with beautiful woman.
Thank you! 8-)
It's silk alright. You say girl on film, I say film on girl. Pretty.
