Monochrome Monday - Imprinted Leaves !!
I was out at the grounds of one of the biggest international university called Mahidol University in Bangkok , Thailand the other week and apart from seeing the beautiful rain forest , gardens and buildings which are all spectacular to see and the amazing architectural designs the manicured gardens and fine details has not only gone into the buildings but the whole grounds of the university.
And let me show you some of the fine details that you would rarely see truly amazing , these leaves were imprinted in the cement walkway.
Now at first i was thinking... OK... a couple of leafs have fallen of the trees and have embedded themselves into the wet cement when it was laid and have become a leaf fossil imprint.
But no that wasn't the case i come to realize that i had been walking down this long and i mean long pathway that was leading me to the plant biologists school which was at least 1 km away and i hadn't notice because we always tend to have a habit of looking straight ahead and not downwards or upwards as we should more often so we wouldn't miss things like i missed this till i almost was at the end of this pathway then noticed these leaf imprints were done all the way down and on both sides of this 1 km walkway.
Look at the length of this walkway can you image how many man hours would of when into laying down what i would image plastic leaf stencils or steel stencils into the wet cement to creating this leaf imprint and there were literal hundreds of these leafs imprinted into these cement blocks on both sides. Luckily labor is cheap in Thailand.
