Rare albino leaf monkey spotted in S China
A female albino Francois' leaf monkey was recently spotted in a national reserve in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The animal has been listed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as an endangered species in 2008. Rare albino leaf monkey spotted in S China numbers are fewer than 2,000 worldwide.
Albinism is a natural phenomenon caused by gene deletion, but it is rare to see on a Francois' leaf monkey in the region, said wildlife experts
